Wedding day!

It poured all week. I watched the weather channel like crazy, praying that the outdoor wedding ceremony wouldn't get rained out.

Then the great news came! We would be inside anyway, which was a huge relief. But then the rain stopped on Saturday morning, and the day just continued to get better, and better, til at least we had sunshine and puffy clouds! What a wonderful blessing!

This family is awesome. I enjoyed working with them thoroughly. It was a lovely wedding, performed by the bride's dad after he walked her down the aisle. The food was delicious, the music was fun and the cakes were cool!

This next image is my favorite from the whole day!

Jumping over the broom!

This cool wall is in her living room!

Thanks K and P. I had a great time at your wedding! I hope you had a great time on your honeymoon!

Sweet 10 month old!

This lil girl is so cute... she's come to me 2 months in a row now. I love seeing babies grow!

Check her out with her taking a lil tiny step with her arms in the air! She was having a terrific time doing that. And the flowers, she was fascinated with them... with pulling them out of the arrangement, that is! LOL... and the leaves, she loved the leaves. Apparently silk leaves are yummy. And so are fake apples.

Anyway, she had a ball, it is very apparent! Thanks for coming over DW... as always I have a great time with you!

20 year anniversary special!

So 20 years ago, I was on the brink of finding something new to do with my life. I was working at a grocery store as a Customer Service Rep, and I really wanted something a little more exciting. Enter the classifieds. "Oh, look, the local studio wants a photographer's assistant. I wonder what that is!"

So I go for an interview and I find out that I'd be photographing families, kids, babies and the occasional pet. It sounded like fun and challenging work, so I accepted the job.

I remember my first sessions, and the gal who taught me was really, really good. I use a lot of what she taught me still, for getting kids to smile and all of that. I cringe at the memory of my first session with a family of 15 grandchildren LOL. I smile at the memory of kids crying and then I got them to stop by making them laugh. My heart melts when I think of parents thanking me because I was able to capture something for them because I cared. I love looking back on those days and I marvel at how far I've come, to my own business which was a dream only 6 months into my career.

Ok, so fast forward to today! I am offering, for the month of October, 20 regular sessions for half price, and all the 8x10s purchased from those sessions are half price, too! I think that's pretty dang GOOD. Hurry and call, because these sessions will go fast. Only one per family, and this offer may not be combined with any other offer.

My number is 907-753-1050. My email is meganmartineau@gci.net. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email.

A 4 week old preemie

So as some of you may know, there are some new poses/techniques that I am trying to learn on my own for photographing newborns. To get that curly, sleepy look and just be able to manipulate them into all kinds of adorable positions, they need to be under the age of 2 weeks. In case YOU are interested, and for a limited time only, I am giving away one hour newborn sessions just so I can learn these poses.

So this is a friend of a friend, please meet N&A and their cute new baby, who was 4 weeks premature, so he's really at 0 weeks. *perfect* And he did wake up a bit, only to go right back to sleep. What a peaceful baby! :D

So the one pose, I couldn't get... but after studying I think I figured it out. Below is my first attempt at a hanging baby pose NOT using a pre-made sling. It's a pretty good first attempt. I do believe that after doing this and then re-studying I've figured some other things out so I'm working on it! But Mom and Dad LOVED this, it was their favorite and I sneaked it out to them on FB right after the session on Friday so LOL... they LOVE it. I'm so glad.

Anyway, this new lil family is adorable, and I hate to only know them for a short time, since they are PCSing in like 6 weeks! But I'm glad I got to meet you and the lil one... thanks so much for helping me out. I hope you love your sneak peek!

A 2 year old girl

So this lil girl I've been photographing since she was a lil bitty. I've known her momma for YEARS. Anyway, she turned two a few months ago, and I captured her in a 3 generation session earlier this summer. But I really wanted a model for my basket of apples, and so guess who I turned to? YUP! And as her mom and I planned, we decided pink leg warmers would be cute with a tutu... and big floppy ribbons in her hair. The outfit she came over in, the red and white striped, was too adorable. So we let her climb on up and look at the fantastic smile we got! She sure loved the basket of apples, too. The bale of hay? Well, I think it poked at her... so it was reaaaaallllllllly hard getting her back on LOL. I love her expression... she looks like she's waiting for something to happen. She LOVES her root beer, and I loved how she was sitting, so we got her taking a sippy break. And the one with the eyelashes? Breath-taking! I adore that one. And the first one here... sooo precious! What a cutie! Thanks D for letting me photograph your daughter for yet *another* time! LOL
