Oplove RD

Look at these beautiful girls with these big smiles! We had a fun time the other evening... your girls are delightful and I enjoyed recounting it with Jimmy.

Now I usually don't have to work too hard to get a cutie like this 4 month old to smile for me. I play a little peek-a-boo, a little sneezing... and voila! I get all the best smiles.

Not this baby. She studied me for quite a while, watched me as I performed all my little tricks. I bet she was laughing inwardly! But then bright as the sun, she cracked into this HUGE grin and you will find many versions of it below. Nothing like a straight-up audience... gives a girl a little to worry about... that lamb-on-the-head-and-then-I-sneeze-and-it-falls-off routine might be getting old after nearly 20 years. LOL... Nah... it at least makes the adults laugh!

RD and family and friends, I hope you LOVE these images. I know your hubby will!

Rainy Day Photo Shoot

Please meet my friend and hair designer, Shannon. She works now at Salon Nirvana on W. Northern Lights. I won't go see anyone else, she is an amazing colorist and is just the sweetest person EVER. She invited me to come photograph her beautiful family on her sister's ranch and I'll tell ya... this was my dream shoot come true. I have been wanting to photograph lifestyle portraits for a long time, and this type of shoot was right up my alley... I was really excited to go on up and meet and spend some time with her family.

Well, the weather had other ideas. *sigh*

Luckily, they had a FABULOUS porch. Luckily, my husband came with me and I had brought my tripod (which always accompanies me for shoots) and my leopard umbrella. You can imagine my husband standing in the rain, holding a very girly looking leopard print umbrella and sopping wet, protecting my camera and lens with tender loving care. I have to say I'm really lucky that I actually stopped at the door before we left to pluck the umbrella off the hook on the way out. Jim did mention during the shoot that we should invest in one of those huge black umbrellas. You know... just in case we get to do another photo shoot in the rain. LOL.

It was actually not bad. I wasn't cold at all, the rain was really refreshing. And Shannon's sweet family fed us nummy lasagna and garlic bread afterward. I have to tell you Kari, Noah thinks your garlic bread is WAY better than mine. You must have a secret!

So you can imagine, posing this super cute family of all boy grandchildren LOL, making sure everyone's hair and shirts didn't get wet, under the porch, and then running out in the yard to use my camera and get great shots. Yeah, I can tell you are laughing now. No I didn't fall in any mud. Not this time. *wink*

Shannon and family, I really hope you love your sneak peek. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to come over and photograph your family. I can't wait to get a dry day in September so we can finish the shoot with the cool fences and the horses and all. I had a great time meeting everyone and I'm just grateful for wonderful folks like the ones in your family. You guys ROCK!

OpLove CH

I love photographing itty bitties... this lil 4 week old has yet to meet his daddy but he's ALL-AMERICAN! He was easy to put to sleep, easy to maneuver, and most of all, just oozing with sweetness and spirit.

Thanks C for coming over and letting me have fun with your guy and all the neat stuff you brought over. I know you'll love these!

Daddy's Homecoming OpLove

There's a song that I teach the Primary kids at church called Daddy's Homecoming. It goes like this:
I’m so glad when daddy comes home,
Glad as I can be;
Clap my hands and shout for joy,
Then climb upon his knee,
Put my arms around his neck,
Hug him tight like this,
Pat his cheeks, then give him what?
A great big kiss.

Last week, this wonderful family had their homecoming with their Daddy! He got to hold his new baby girl for the first time and it was such a wonderful time! This is the best part about being an OpLove photographer: to see these moments and capture them for the families. There was a LOT of joy this day, and it is evident in the big grins and happy moments.

This says it all! Little A was all smiles the entire time!

Waiting anxiously for the plane to arrive.

Is he even on this flight?

There he is!

Holding his new baby girl for the first time!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Dancing for joy 'cause Daddy's home!

Tickle, tickle, tickle!

Grins because her dad's home!

Thanks, R., for serving our country well and I'm glad you made it home safe and sound!
