Mt Redoubt

To those who know about Mt Redoubt, you'll know that it will erupt any day now. If you don't then I am glad you are reading this.

I pray that you will prepare for it, even if the winds don't blow it our way, but according to the map I have seen on http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php, it looks like they will. Ash fallout is very dangerous for all, but especially elderly folks and infants. Please get yourselves each a particulate respirator mask, available at the paint department of local stores, safety goggles, and a 72 hour kit for each family member. If you end up not needing it, at least you had it just in case it happened. If we do end up needing it, won't you be glad you had prepared?

Ash fallout can last for weeks. It is very abrasive and can harm your lungs. If you wear contacts, please don't use them because you will get corneal abrasions. It is crystalline in nature with sharp little edges. It is very slippery when dry and even worse when wet. You can get more information at these websites:
